I waited a long time for this gun. Months on the hunt for it and also the 1894 sbl (44 mag). It was worth the wait. This gun is really well built. I know there have been issues with Marlin since Remington took over. But a lot of that had really been fleshed out. The action is smooth and the sights are dead on right out the box. The lever is smoother than my 1895sbl. So they worked that out. Better milling. The only complaint I have so far is that the loading gate is stiff as hell out the box. I simply left a spent casing halfway in the gate for a couple of days. That loosened the spring on the gate and it’s a lot better now. Definitely recommend.

Nearly $1000 for an unusable lever action rifle that's supposed to be top shelf. Only one side of the stock is checkered, the action is completely unusable - the bolt catches on the hammer and gets stuck and the magazine will not allow more than 1 bullet to be inserted. So basically, a paper weight of the box...I guess Marlin's quality control is really non-existent. Save your money and buy something else.
