The standard for reliability in auto loading shotguns, Versa Max shatters convention and all previous benchmarks for reliability with an action unlike any that have come before it. Proven in the field and in extreme tests of endurance with thousands of test rounds, it cycles 12-gauge loads with ultimate consistency, softer recoil and less maintenance than you've ever experienced. One of the most versatile, reliable shotguns on the market, it reliably cycles 12-gauge rounds from 2.75" to 3.5" magnum. Versaport gas system regulates cycling pressure based on shell length and reduces recoil to that of a 20-gauge. Self-cleaning, it continuously cycled thousands of rounds in torture test. This shotgun features a synthetic stock, forend with overmolded grips, drilled and tapped receiver. It also has an enlarged feeding port and Competition Carrier for ease of loading, and an oversized bolt handle, safety and bolt closure button for easy operation with gloves. The nickel barrel and nickel Teflon-plated internal components offer extreme corrosion resistance. The Versa Max Waterfowl comes with an all-over finish of Mossy Oak Shadow Grass Blades. It includes four 4 Pro Bore Extended choke tubes (IC, Mod, Full and Extra Full).

This shotgun is a great buy! Remington has had some issues with their Quality Control but this is nothing like it! First thing I did was run a bunch of 2 3/4 shells through this beast and it kicked them 5ft. The VM is 8lbs roughly and some people say that is too heavy for a shotgun. But i can tell you this much - its a well balanced gun that swings beautifully. Besides if a man cannot handle an 8lb (7.8 pounds exact I think) shotgun they should not be hunting at all. The recoil on the VM is near to nothing I think, but I also shoot an SP10. I'm a believer in VM. Oh, and by the way the forend screw cap has never come loose like the first models when they were introduced. My personal opinion is the VM is a great shotgun, and I would recommend this to any person. Hinterland did a great job answering questions.
