Since its introduction in 1993, the Ruger Vaquero has dominated the cowboy action shooting world and earned its reputation for rugged reliability due to its strength and mechanical superiority. The mid-size steel frame and cylinder are scaled-down to the same size as the original 1955 Ruger Blackhawk, closely resembling the classic single-action revolvers of the late 1800's. It combines the original Old West single action look and feel with more modern features. This Vaquero series features a traditional Western-style rosewood grip with a blued or high gloss stainless steel finish. It is available in .357 Magnum or .45 Colt with a 4.62" or 5.5" barrel.

When I saw the picture of Ruger Vaquero gloss stainless I fall in love right away. I am a guy that loves shiny metal, like gold, brass, silver, nickel and gloss stainless. So. I bought the revolver. When the gun store received the item I cannot wait to see it in real. after three days of background check they called me and they said I can pick it up anytime in my convenient. I went to the gun store and pick it up right away. The moment I hold the gun I was very happy and smilling. It was very shiny. I said to myself, now, I am a cowboy. When I got home I read the manual and check everything. I study how to uninstall and install the cylinder. I cock the hammer and squeeze the trigger. To my surprise the trigger is very light. and the firearm is very safe. When you open the loading window you cannot cock the gun and so therefore, it will not fire. I like the single action because there is no possibility of fired accidentally. I wipe the gun all the time and hold it and play with it. I keep looking on it because the more you look at it the more you love it. I put it under my pillow when I am sleeping and hold it right away when I wake up. After three days I went to Walmart and I bought a 50 round 357 ammo. I browse the internet also and look for a cheaper 38 special ammo. I like this gun because you can use two types of ammo. I wish Ruger company will make a 9mm cylinder for this model so I can use three types of ammo. They said it is special issue and therefore. it is not sold with 9mm cylinder.
I highly recommend this revolver to anybody who loves shiny metal. It is really beautiful. This is the gun that Client Eastwood. Lee Van Cliff and the Mexican guy in the movie "The Good The Bad and The Ugly" was using. I browse the internet about revolver and I came across about how to check the timing. It pops up in my mind in that movie when the Mexican guy wants to buy a gun and put the gun close to his ears and cock the gun. After he heard the click he rotates the cylinder. The cylinder should lock in place without play. Once I have a permit to carry I am going to target shooting and try it. I found out also that among handgun Magnum is the strongest handgun compared to 9mm and 38 special. They said police don't use it because if you shoot a person you can still kill a person behind. If you use hollow point ammo there is a whole as big as soft ball at the exit. I found in the internet that 357 Magnum ammo can reach 1000 yards. Unbelievable. You can use this gun for hunting. What you are waiting for. Come on and buy one. Here, in Florida there is a target shooting place "Flagler Gun Club" that will teach you how to be a cowboy. That is really fun.
