The Weather Warrior is ready to go, even in the most unpredictable conditions. This series has a stainless steel action and button-rifled, free-floating barrel. It features Savage's AccuTrigger with built-in adjustability and safety, so there's no need for a gunsmith to modify it. AccuTrigger also provides a crisp, clean trigger pull, which enhances accuracy. FCSS models have a detachable box magazine, offering a straight-line feed for more reliability, and the synthetic AccuStock with cut-checkering and a dimensional pillar-bedding system that literally squeezes the action in all dimensions. It is drilled and tapped for scope mounts and has swivel studs.

This is my first 7mm and my first Savage. I purchased it based on Savage's reputation for accuracy and the high reviews it has received from hunters/shooters. I topped it with a Nightforce SHV, and my primary use is elk/muley/antelope hunting out west. I shoot custom hand loaded ammo--168 gr Sierra Gameking bullets so far. Took it to the range and shot about 20 rounds through it. As far as accuracy, so far so good. I'm shooting 1MOA groups at 200yards, out of the box, not even broken in yet. Accuracy should improve more once its broken in. I really like the feel of the Accustock, and Accutrigger, as it is way less pull weight than my Ruger M77. The butt pad is nice and soft, but durable and recoil is not an issue.Action is nice and smooth, however can be a bit tricky to remove for cleaning. You have to pull the trigger and depress the button at the same time to remove the bolt. I noticed the barrel cooled faster than my buddy's fluted barrels on his Remington and Sako. At 7lbs without optics, it is pretty light, not as light as a Sako or Tikka, and definitely not mountain rifle light, but 1/2 lb shouldn't make too much of a difference. So overall Pros: lightweight, smooth action, accurate, cools fast, and syn/stainless is a must for the ever changing weather in the Bighorn mountains. Cons: Bolt kind of tricky to remove, and I would prefer a rifle has an accuracy guarantee like Sako/Tikka. Kind of nit-picky, but I gave it 5 stars anyhow. I'd buy another for sure.
