Hinterland Outfitters is GREAT! I got this rifle 4 days after I ordered it.
It sighted in real quickly with my Leupold 3x9 VX3 scope. I took it out into the Everglades near my house in SW Florida to do some long range work on Florida Spotted Swamp Prairie Dogs. I was able to routinely get hits out to 1400 yards, with relative ease. I use Berger 180 grain VLD (Very Low Drag) bullets, on top of 230 grains of FF black power in a handload. Excellent results. Most of these wiley dogs went down within 3 or 4 steps. Meat damage was minimal.
I would recommend this rifle to anyone interested in terrific long-range shooting.

I have owned this gun for about a year and I think it is excellent. I mounted an Accupoint scope it hit sub MOA at 100 yards and I routinely hit out to 1000 yards with no issues.
I have heard all the negative reviews about the stock or the trigger and with the way this gun shoots have yet to find a good reason to invest more into it. But most likely will replace the barrel after I put a few more thousands through it. I am very happy with Savage and plan to buy the 338 FCP next. Yes a 1000 yards is easy and I practice with it out to 700 yards almost daily.
