Buying a gun is a big deal. Buying a gun to replace a gun that was stolen is a bigger deal because it reminds you why you needed a gun to begin with. The SW Model 37 I'd had for four decades was stolen out of our truck. I didn't replace it right off because I hoped It would show up in a pawn shop somewhere, nope, likely serial numbers filed off and in some gangbanger's droopy drawers by now. So I went internet shopping and found the best price I could at "BS" Sporting Goods in Indiana. Seven weeks later, no gun, no response to my emails and they have a "no phone calls please" policy. I should have seen that coming. So a calls to BBB and to credit card company to expedite shipment. Instead "BS" cancelled the order and the pistol price went up about $90.
Live and learn and look again on the internet. Found Hinterland. Excellent to say the least BBB ratings. Excellent Reseller ratings. Excellent reviews on a few gun blogs I checked. So I sent customer service a question or two. Answers that day if not that hour. Good reason to buy from these guys.
Then I could not decide hammered or shrouded hammer, so I bought both and Hinterland, being Texas horse hagglers, threw in free shipping. My pistols entered the US Postal System that day, that day! Then the absolute coolest thing, Hinterland has integrated their shipping program with the Post Office and I got email status updates as my pistols traveled from Texas to Georgia. My wife said I was like a little boy tracking Santa Claus on the radio as he came from the North Pole. OK. so I was.
Pistols arrived two days earlier than forecast, what else to add?
Now, was Hinterland the lowest price? No, they were 10 or 12 dollars more delivered than "BS" Sporting Goods. The big difference is service. Quality service that justifies Hinterland's Better Business Bureau and Reseller ratings.
I don't know what Santa will bring me this year, but I hope he goes by Hinterland on the way to my house.
