The PCR stands for 'Police Czech Republic,' the group for whom the model was originally designed. Nearly identical in size to the CZ 75 Compact, it weighs in at a full 1/4 pound less due to its forged aluminum frame, making it more comfortable for everyday carry. Equipped with a decocking lever, the PCR is designed to be decocked before holstering. After decocking, the trigger safety is much like that of a double action revolver. While there is no manual safety lever, the relatively longer and heavier first round trigger pull requires the conscious decision to pull the trigger before firing. There is a safety stop on the hammer as well as a firing pin block safety. It has snag-free, fixed 3-dot sights. Other features of the PCR include rubber grip panels, serrated front and back straps, and a loaded chamber indicator.

This is a well made handgun, I have had one for 2 years and have not had a malfunction. I like the double/single action with the de-cocker, some do not like this action. I think it is a nice safety feature. This gun is accurate, especially in single action. I bought the PCR for concealed carry which it is a nice size and weight. There are some after market parts I added( CZ wood grips and fiber optics sights }. The double stack grip is a little thicker than I like. I decided I wanted Laser grips because without glasses I could not focus on the front sight. Laser grips were discontinued a few years ago for the PCR. I have retired my PCR as a EDC handgun but still enjoy shooting it at the range. This is a nice mid size pistol with quality construction, steel and aluminum opposed to composite. If this fits your niche you will not be disappointed.

The CZ 75 PCR Compact is one of the few firearms I have found to shoot true to point of aim, right out of the box. This is a responsive pistol, in that there is virtualy NO break in period.
The grips to frame fit are snug, and the rubber grips give a positive feel to the shooter. Recoil is minimal, which lets the shooter stay on target without having to correct their point of aim.
For the price it is hard to beat this firearm. You can spend more, and get less from other manufacturers. If you are looking for a 9mm that shoots damn fine, comes with two (2) 14 rnd mags, and is bang on target, then I say look no more, here it is. my only complaint would be with the sights.
I like a bigger front and rear sight, but this can be corrected with after market purchase.
